Halfway through Altus and you already have GSGS? That Apostle will have been the hardest boss you've fought in terms of scaling for quite some time, he has the same scaling as the penultimate boss of the game. Doing a +0 run and I fucked up. Got extremely frustrated with Morgott, who with...

In regard to 1. it is easily fixed by designating one enemy as a guaranteed drop for the first kill and either keeping the drop rate low or preferably doing away with it altogether since the only reasons for multiples are powerstancing and hardswapping which are dumb concepts anyway. I don't...

All the underground areas are arguably coherent sequences of levels and the reason I've yet to skip Ranni's quest on a playthrough. I'd demote Redmane to your Castle Sol tier though and it's probably the worst of the castles as it suffers from the Leyndell problem of a lack of a coherent path...
  4. From Software Bloodborne. Discuss or die!

Visiting family over the holidays has given me access to a PS5 and consequently the chance to finally try Bloodborne. So far I love the level design of Central Yharnam, but the game feels disappointingly easy so far. I easily beat Cleric and Gascoigne first try and I felt like I played terribly...

If you're already going to 25 FAI for GV I'd recommend going to 30 for Black Flame's Protection (+35% physical resist but 20% less effective healing, Crab is +20% also only physical). Heavy armor + Dragoncrest Greatshield + GV + BFP will push your physical resistance to ~70%.

About half of these buffs overwrite each other. If you're going the buff route you should read up on which ones stack and which ones don't: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Buffs+and+Debuffs In this case Crab/Liver/Golden Lightning Fortification/Flame Protect Me are mutually exclusive as...

NG+ has always had zero appeal to me as there is no progression, you already have all the tools and just go through the motions. Much more enjoyable to start a new character.

Honestly, it's probably easier to go the Flame Art/Fire route as her fire negation is 0% and you get a free +20% from the flask (Flame Art might be better than Fire in this case as the damage is skewed more towards fire rather than being an even split). You have to replace Bloodboil with FGMS...

Good point regarding poison. You might be able to counteract it with regen, but I'm not sure that would work (might fluctuate between slight damage and full HP) and even then would likely require a hefty FAI investment as I don't think Bestial Vitality or Crimsonburst Tear are enough. Probably...
  10. From Software Elden Ring - From Software's new game with writing by GRRM

Exalted Flesh and FGMS are mutually exclusive and overwrite each other. Malenia has 18 473 HP with 123 flat defence and 10% physical reduction so you need to be able to do over 20 800 raw damage in a single attack if you want to one-shot her. Not sure it's possible to go that high without...

The AoW has a significantly shorter duration than the incantation though. If you're putting points into faith for buffs you should get to at least 30 for Black Flame's Protection, but at that point you might as well go to the scaling softcap of 50, decrease your STR/DEX to minimum requirements...

This is a good point, the Loretta fights would've been much more interesting if she embraced horse archery. Players would've gone apeshit though, especially if you weren't allowed to use Torrent.

I also find doing it during the fight too cumbersome, but loading it up before engaging the boss so you get it on the first hit is straightforward enough.

For all the bonk enthusiasts; a single cast of Royal Knight's Resolve applies to both weapons if you dual wield. Since it's a weapon buff you can cast it on both weapons and since buffs multiply you get an effective buff of 224%. Stack a few other effects and you can easily break 10k damage on...
  15. Elden Ring Critique(s)

They cursed you which halved your health until you managed to get a hold of a purging stone. Even if you knew where to get them it was a nuisance since the first time you come across Basilisks you don't have fast travel and IIRC the game only points you in the direction of Ingward, who at that...
