Development Info More Details on Cyberpunk 2077 Super Patch

It can't be fixed with patches. It doesn't even have the bare bones story branching that Witcher 3 had.

Baldur's Gate Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access Thread [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

Yeah, I don't it's think optional to screw the entire character system, regardless of the reasons why WOTC created some variant rules, nearly all of which are pretty awful. This all is fairly obvious if you've played this system for any amount of time, which the folks at Larain haven't done.

Baldur's Gate Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access Thread [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

I mean Advantage just by walking behind the target. Regarding flanking, or facing for that matter, they are not in the Core Rules for reason. Only a newbie DM would allow it, with no inkling of how spells and abilities interact in 5e. You would be giving Advantage at no resource cost, while all...

Baldur's Gate Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access Thread [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

Larian's handling of Advantage largely breaks the 5e system, it's rather fragile really. In short, they hand Advantage out like candy. For example, one can get Advantage by simply walking behind the target, that's Advantage at no resource cost. This invalidates a host of abilities and spell...

    The Codex of Roguelikes

Healing is a bit unconventional, at least in my experience, you can pet bunnies to get your health back.

Preview Baldur's Gate 3 Gameplay Reveal, Previews and Interviews

Well, the DOS-isms, i.e. dancing when using an ability, don't exactly fit D&D, but overall I'm pleasantly surprised. A little gesturing and chanting for portraying spell-casting would be nice though. This could really be so much worse, they could've hammered the system into RTWP, for those...

KickStarter Solasta Pre-Release Thread [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

The 5e Wizard has three good sub-classes: Evoker (blaster), Diviner (controller), and the Bladesinger (fighter/mage), it doesn't look like they even covered the fundamental bases for an iconic D&D class. And not using the Evoker sub-class, when they have express permission to do so? A horrible...

I'm sorry, but you didn't notice the 6K for voice-over from some unknown you-tube personality?

I can't find a single video, by cohhcarnage, concerning Solasta but alright.

I hate to say it, but with stretch goals like these, I wouldn't expect pledges to flood in. I mean, I'm not sure I care about raising 6K to nab a voice-over from some you-tube personality. What are they even thinking, here?

    D&D 5E Discussion

I suppose we're supposed to be happy that the art is not some super-heroish abomination, like the previous edition. All while the greats of D&D art are still alive, and still available, for commission.

KickStarter Solasta Pre-Release Thread [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

Some of the bard's abilities would be tricky to implement, though doable in turn-based. I'm not sure if they'll tackle the class, really. 'Cutting Words' is in the SRD, it's one of the monsters of die manipulation mechanics in the game. Would they risk a pop-up on all the subset of rolls that a...

Baldur's Gate Baldur's Gate 3 Pre-Release Thread [EARLY ACCESS RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

The problem with advantage/disadvantage system is it leads to situations which make little sense. Say, I'm restrained by a web spell, so I have disadvantage to my attacks and assailants have advantage on attacks against me. So, I'm restrained and I fail a save against a Blindness spell, now I'm...

Baldur's Gate Baldur's Gate 3 Pre-Release Thread [EARLY ACCESS RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

I'm not sure why folks are stating that +x weapons are not in the game, as they most certainly are in the game. D&D 5e differs in that the highest bonus is +3, reserved for legendary items. It also differs in that, supposedly, the core game was balanced with no assumption of magical items being...

KickStarter Solasta Pre-Release Thread [GAME RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

They might as well seek out the full license, WOTC isn't doing anything interesting with it anyway. This Avatar Crisis we are experiencing is becoming somewhat grating, fellow citizens. It seems Dark Underlord cares little for our individuality. Why doesn't he simply force us all to wear Stars...
