Baldur's Gate #BaldurGate: Siege of Dragonspear

This is the kind of meta I'm strongly opposed to. In roleplayer's eyes the rules are just not perfect. In powergamer's eyes, most choices are trap ones. I actually pity you people stuck with those few OP combos deep down insane difficulties. And I think this is more of a problem for TSR/WotC...

The cRPG UI thread (Wiz-clones agenda thread)

I would probably prefer this to some fancy UI with click-only movement direction buttons. But why would we still need huge letters in eye-poking colors? And do I see movement mapped to F/L/R? That's some ergonomics right there. "The dungeon graphics are ugly anyway, so it's ok to only have a...

Game News Dark Souls III Released

I do have a gamepad, and I couldn't play DS with it. I use joypad for platformer games and such, but orientation in 3D space using analog stick is a pain. Compared to mouse it feels like controlling a robotic camera using buttons vs looking around with your own eyes. You can even tell gamepad...

Now this I can totally understand. The game basically has a KB-only control scheme, but just fails to realize it.

    Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption

I remember the beginning mines as the shttiest part, both level design and gameplay. It gets a lot better soon. I like how Christoff retains his medieval speech when you get to modern times, and people mock him constantly. And I recommend keeping your humanity high for the campiest ending.

Game News Dark Souls III Released

Watching an LP right now. I can't shake the feeling of a mashup of previous Souls games and Bloodborne. Nexus that is called Firelink Shrine, with the Maiden in black from DeS, Andre from DS and a hag from DSII. Mandatory Crestfallen too, wonder where Patches is... "Color" palette straight from...

    Diablo 2 being remade on starcraft 2 engine - C&D letter in 3... 2...

These things are created by people who have the desire and ability to create, but they have nothing to say and no imagination. They should team up with others on original projects instead of this nonsense, but I suppose pride prevents that.

The cRPG UI thread (Wiz-clones agenda thread)

When using Blender or GIMP, I use keyboard shortcuts constantly. But I don't seek maximum efficiency when playing games. I prefer having options, and also clicking a nicely skinned button, hearing a sound, seeing it animate, all that with some background music... I don't mind my games not being...

The cRPG UI thread (Wiz-clones agenda thread)

That's because it's no auto battle system, you are just mashing through it. What i mean by content vs UI is this: Enemy animations and the way they are integrated in the world =/= interface. You could very well have a wireframe game with enemies popping out of nowhere and without animations...

The cRPG UI thread (Wiz-clones agenda thread)

And here we go. That is CONTENT. The UI itself is a different story. W1 has you select the same actions again and again, while W8 has the last attack type pre-selected and you only need to touch anything if you want someone to do something different this turn. Put 8's UI in 1 and the combat will...

The cRPG UI thread (Wiz-clones agenda thread)

I'm definitely biased, but I'll bite. If we are talking interface, it doesn't matter which game made what possible. The only criteria is "what is easier to do within specific interface". I dare you to state a single activity that is actually easier to achieve within W1 interface compared to W8...

    Diablo 2 being remade on starcraft 2 engine - C&D letter in 3... 2...

Yes! This is what Diablo II needed fot perfection! I don't see tons of item graphics ripped from other games though.

    Diablo 2 being remade on starcraft 2 engine - C&D letter in 3... 2...

PlugY has ingame shared stash with essentially unlimited space and also allows you to store unlimited gold in there. You can reset your stats and skills (also accidentally, so much fun:)) and it unlocks some multiplayer-only encounters for singleplayer. I'm sure there is more I don't remember...

    Diablo 2 being remade on starcraft 2 engine - C&D letter in 3... 2...

There is a mod for shared stash and other features - PlugY. To hell with Median and all the other "multiply numbers by 100 and attach lightning bolts to everything" mods. There is a hi-res mod as well, but the game's AI turns off outside the usual visible area and it looks and plays silly at...
