  2. So what did you think of Portal?

Any enjoyment I got out of Portal was promptly buried under an avalanche of severely overused memes which weren't even funny the first time. It's getting tiring. We had to put up with the shittiest character from HL2 (Alyx) twice in the episodes, and then Valve fucks off from Episode 3 to...
  3. LFD2 demo: LOL

    Hats.
  4. Further decline of Valve.

    Hats.
  5. Further decline of Valve.

I lol'd at the outrage. Fake virtual pixel hats are serious business.
  6. Modern Flight Sims

This has been my exact experience so far. OFF arrived a couple days ago, and I've been playing obsessively since. It's pulled me away from OpenFalcon. OFF has been kicking my ass. I really like the permadeath and sense of danger. The longest pilot I've played lasted 22 days, but only really...
  7. Borderlands - More like boring..er..lands.

Borderlands feels exactly like an MMORPG being played on a dead server. Seriously, all that's missing are the groups of characters dancing/bunny hopping all over the starter town, gathering around questgivers, and fighting over mob boss respawns.
  8. Read a review of Operation Flashpoint II in PCgameplay.

Apparently, the game disc ships with bonus missions which are locked by codes specific to which retailer you purchased the game from: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/ ... p?t=382949
  9. A good Fallout 3 review

The Bethesda Hype Machine certainly did it's job well enough. No matter what sort of back-woods, gaming-irrelevant forum I visit where there happens to be a thread about Fallout 3, everybody who mentions VATS says it's turn-based. I GUESS EVERY GAME WITH A PAUSE BUTTON IS TURN-BASED LOLOLO

  11. Pre-emptive TESV ridicule thread

Since Bethesda outsources everything, they'll license TomTom for their in-game map system, where you can get plug-in waypoint packs after finding and inserting a special crystal (memory card). Because some people had trouble finding their quest points with the TESIV GPS arrows, there will now...
  12. Fallout 3 reviewed!

Oh, the gnome meme is icing on the cake. Let me guess: The game rewards you somehow for carrying it across the map.
  13. Another Dwarf Fortress Thread: Help me - and other dudes...

I've found Dwarf Foreman to be pretty damn useful, since all the jobs are arranged and set on a graphical sheet in an external program: http://www.pavlovian.net/foreman/ A file has to be edited for the specific version of DF, the version list and stuff is here...
  14. With Permadeath

Trials of Ascension was going to have permadeath, but surprise! It couldn't get the funding to continue development. The developers said that wasn't the reason why they couldn't secure funding, but I'm too cynical to accept that considering how much woefully uninspired cookie-cutter trash easily...
  15. NSFW Best Thread Ever [No SJW-related posts allowed]

Not being able to interact on an emotional level with video game characters indicates having a life or a desirable personality.
