boomer revival

  1. Deep State - Deus Ex and Goldeneye 64-inspired boomer stealth FPS

https://frogmandev.itch.io/deep-state So this is still p early in development by the looks of it but the devs have demo available and it seems to be p promising. Gotta love how much effort they're placing into replicating Deus Ex's UE1 look.
  2. Diluvian Ultra - Weird SF Boomer Shooter

So this is coming out today, after being in development for quite a while. Like Fortune's Run, it's another FPS with Metal hurlant-esque vibe to the world and character designs, altho this is a very different beast both visually and gameplay-wise. Seems like it turned out pretty well.
  3. Labyrinth Of The Demon King - first-person boomer survival horror set in feudal Japan

Definitely looks like one of the hidden gems of this years Realms Deep.
  4. Hands of Necromancy - Heretic and Hexen-inspired GZDoom boomer shooter

https://af.gog.com/en/game/hands_of_necromancy?as=1649904300 This is coming out in a couple of days and it looks like it won't be an early access release (a rarity for this genre). there is a demo avaiable. The blurb on the store page invokes only Heretic but the hub structure, combat...
  5. Undetected - "Boomer Stealth Game" inspired by MGS and Splinter Cell

This looks p promising, basically a combination of old MGS camera and vibe with Splinter Cell's lighting and sound based stealth mechanics and more open ended level design.
