If you like Mass Effect 2 style combat and the new James Bond movies I highly suggest checking this game out.

Note that I didn't say it was good necessarily. It's exactly what it aimed to be though. Combat, if you like "stop n' pop," is very... polished, I guess is the word? It's very well done for what it is supposed to be. The graphics are VERY good I think, especially if you force AF from your GPU's control panel. The story is... there. It has a lot of Bond moments, new Bond style moments anyway, though the overall plot is lacking.

I could just as easily tear the game apart for being unambitious trash where you run in a straight line a shoot dudes, but you know that already. If you're like me any enjoy playing unambitious linear trash when it's well presented though, and you like Bond stuff, check out Blood Stone. It's worth the 6-8 hours.

Play it on hard, game is fucking easy as hell.

Oh God, that's hilarious;
they even got him down to his retarded "pout":

I take it it's about as humorless and pointless as the new Bond films?

daniel craig was never a good fit for bond. James bond is supposed to be sophisticated and refined. Craig looks like a monkey, he looks like a random thug bond would fight.

So it's as good as Alpha Brotocol? If so, buying this.

Wait, and which one is a linear shooter and which one is an action rpg in your books, Trash?

You may not like it, but how on earth would Alpha Protocol classify as linear?

From a game perspective, AP is as much of a linear shooter as Gears of War. You go through closed corridor missions as if on a railroad, with the only difference being that you have a few ways to handle the enemies. The story and characters may not be linear, but the game itself is.

Don't take me wrong, I actually like AP and if this 007 game is similar to it but without the RPG elements and great story, I'd play it. But it belongs in the same family of games as Mass Effect does: linear shootans with rpg elements.

All previous Bonds looked like Übermensch. Craig is the opposite. He has these weird ass lazy facial features. Definite decline. The James bond movies are ROMANTIC, they're supposed to be LARGER THAN LIFE. Bond should represent the ultimate man. Wtf is this droopy, everyday man shit.

Oh right, from a gameplay perspective. I was thinking plot/story/characters. Most of it is, undeniably, linear corridor shootan.

Still, Skyway is probably just complaining about a game he hasn't played, like usual, right?

You even have to look for special places to jump down in absolutely linear corridors and you ask me this question?

Exactly, he's such a boring "hard" character. Like in Casino Royale, that first scene where he's climbing some crane to go after some criminal. Come on, Bond would just get a drink and wait for the idiot to notice he has nowhere to go. Not fly up the ladder and go Jackie Chan on him.

It's the typical 3-4 hour popamole fare. Strangely though and to my embarrassment I actually enjoyed the ride in Blood Turd!

I think it's because there's no hype behind it, it doesn't pretend to be the next great thing and it's not full of spawned hordes and explosions every step of the way as in a CoD game. For the most part, the enemy is limited in number at least. There are explosions of course, it wouldn't be Bond otherwise, but the pacing is much more relaxed and it not being 100 miles an hour non-stop actually makes it less tedious to play.

Graphically it's dated(MW engine), but architecture is pretty good and some locations are pretty impressive looking. The car chase bits, while gimmicky, short, and occasionally rage inducing are also ok to break up the game and it helps a lot to give that campy Bond feel. Some are pretty cool as well. Lack of really infuriating boss fights also is a huge plus.

The impression I got was that the developer really made an effort with this game even if they were hired just to do a generic popamole, and they could easily make a proper lengthier GoldenEye or NOLF game if they could. Locations rarely feel as cutpasta as other cover shooters with far larger budgets.

Too short and consoly to recommend for purchase, but a fun timewaster to let off steam as a 'free' download.

So the older Bonds in movies are all idiots then, good thing they changed, I didn't care about Bond films until CR.

Nope, Bond isn't supposed to be a retarded thug like Craig comes off as.
