Wow. Now didn't this "Steve" guy really get's across what makes Fallout better.

"the original is a pure RPG. There's no action, no reflexes, you're outside the body not inside."

Yep, that's what makes it a real RPG compared to FO3 - you're outside the body.

I know you're being sarcastic but he's right, that what makes it an RPG. First person RPGs are stuff like Wizardry and Might and Magic where your reflexes don't matter, not Fallout 3.

You're dumb, is what I'm saying.

Thanks for the summary of what you're saying, because frankly, I wouldn't have had a clue what you're talking about otherwise.

So, Fallout is a RPG because you are "outside the body." Which is what makes Fallout a role playing game. Yeah, sure, just like, say, Spore.

Then there is "stuff like Wizardry and Might and Magic where your reflexes don't matter", which are first person role playing games. I assume "not fallout 3" means that you don't consider Fallout 3 a First person RPG, or a RPG at all, for that matter - which by those criteria would also exclude Daggerfall, Gothic and others.

Your point being? Me being dumb, right?

Go suck a dick, is what I'm saying.

Like what? There is no better and more balanced RTS. There is no other RTS where all races are actually different. There is not much(if any) RTS with battle.net like system for internet games. There is no patches to other RTS to be made >10 years after release.
And also starcraft is very simple to learn. There is no too many features or units or redundant rules. There is no unused units.
And there is great amount of skill and thinking required. Of course, not as much as for killing six orcs in turn-based mode :)

Skill, yes.
Thinking, no.
Not required for play. Required to actually win games with good players.

There are 3 games developed or published by M$ in that list, and none of them has a widely known cult status, afaik. That can't be a coincidence.

Now, really, come on guys, just do a little bit of journalism at least, will you? How do the hundreds of players in Allegience of Freelancer or Battlefield 1942 compare with the tens of thousands in Counter Strike? I am not talking Counter Strike: Source, I mean that old, ugly one!

Counter-Strike is full of teenage retards, therefore it doesn't count.
Real Men play Flashpoint (for which massive mods are still being made)

What's up with that last game by Microsoft that no one's ever heard of? It's almost like these magazines are getting paid to write this things!

That caught my eye as well. Personally for the mandatory sponsored by m$ pick I would have gone with AoE II.

Good old People's General. I used to be into the modding scene for it, Panzer General 2 and Pacific General.

I think you can still find some of the mods here: http://www.peachmountain.com/5Star/PEG_Downloads.asp

As for the game itself, yes, it was an excellent game. If you have played Panzer General 2, then think of modern warfare, West vs China, and you get the idea.

What mods were you involved? I tried to get into PG mods several times but none would run with my version.

I enjoyed People General once I got used to the modern setting it's as good as PG 1 and 2.

Too bad this game is hard to get now. I'm glad I backupped the rip that was available from theunderdogs. You actually just reminded me that I still have to finish that one.
