But for humor purposes, I recommend checking out the Wizards & Warriors page on Heuristic Park's site just to laugh at all the sites that said great things about that title.

As for Dungeon Lords, I'll just wait and see which D.W. Bradley shows up to make this game. Redeem yourself!

I used to watch a D&D-esque television show in the wee early '80s called Wizards & Warriors. I don't think it was very good...

That was the one where they wore battery packs hooked up to their swords so they'd spark when they touched one another. I remember that show. :)

Haha, that's awesome. The one image I can remember is a tavern scene where two guys are arm-wrestling and as one guy is loosing, an eel or something jumps up out of the platform they're wrestling on and bites the hand of the loser!

I stand by my words. I enjoyed Wizards & Warriors and consider it to be one of the better RPGs that have been released.

Well, I like old school CRPGs, but... Wizards & Warriors was just flakey. It just felt a little "raw" and unpolished, and the bugs didn't help matters. There were some good ideas in it, and I thought the character system was interesting, but the game itself was just lackluster. It was especially disappointing given the development house that did it.

My wife was a huge fan of the Wizardry games too, and she didn't care much for it either. I think she played it one afternoon and just dumped it.

Yeah, W&W was one game I played up to a point...then it just seemed to go flat after a while. It felt too dull and uninspired.

That game just sucked.

1) The combat was awful.
2) The towns were a sliding gif.
3) The dungeons were grotesquely long, drawn out and pointless. Old school, but with nothing fun keeping you interested.
4) Dialogue system was one of the worst ever.
5) Way too frigging difficult.
6) The skills system, and guilds were confusing as hell.
7) The game ambushed you, and that was just stupid.

I had to wait for a walkthrough just to figure out how to play. Call me stupid, but its the only game I have had to do that with.
