The lads at <a href="http://www.gamespyarcade.com" target="_blank">GameSpyArcade</a> have managed to convince the fine folks at <a href="http://www.troikagames.com" target="_blank">Troika</a> that another chat about their new RPG, <a href="http://www.troikagames.com/toee.htm" target="_blank">Greyhawk: The Temple of Elemental Evil</a> is a good idea.

It's scheduled for Tuesday, March 4 at 4 p.m. PST - and yes, you're going to have to install <a href="http://www.gamespyarcade.com/" target="_blank">GameSpyArcade</a> to take part. Spotted at <a href="http://www.bluesnews.com" target="_blank">Blues News</a>.

I recently downloaded gamespy arcade and installed it... and boy does it suck!

I want the old style gamespy back. The one i used for tribes. The latest one takes a year and a half to load up, keeps on popping up sponsor stuff, is slow to refresh and gives unrealisticly high pings if you don't refresh each server individualy.

I also have several other bones to pick with it, but i'll leave it at that. Overall, the new gamespy sucks arse.

During Gamespy's installation, you will be prompted as to whether you would also like a few spyware products, such as WebHancer and Gator, installed on your system. Unless you adore spyware, I highly recommend that you opt out and just say no when prompted. If you want to know more about spyware and how to find and get rid of it if it's on your PC, go to Lavasoft and read about their popular Ad-Aware product. Highly recommended!

Gamers have been very unlucky with some popular websites lately. Not so long ago, they were surprised when the Nimda virus was found hitching a ride with GameSpy's Arcade 1.09. More recently, another website gave its users a bad surprise: Gamespot.com.
Sources reported that the famous Gamespot.com website was found to be promoting a "download accelerator" which would contain a digital-rights-management (DRM) and spyware package.

Conclusion : For general suckiness with pot- ups ,spywarez installation and possibly Viruz parties in you PiCi gamespy RoXors !!!!

GameSpy? Nooooo! I don't want filthy, filthy GSA on my computer. I'm just going to read the chatlog after it's over. Besides, the asshole GSA admins would probably block all the good questions like "What are you doing differently from NWN to ensure that ToEE doesn't suck?"

Could someone capture the chat and post it, so that I don't have to install this piece of crap again? The old gamespy I had no real problems with, gamespy arcade is vile though.

Behind you.
Yeah, I'm interested in what Troika says, but I'm in no way going to install GameSpy Arcade for it for many of the reasons Cris mentioned above. Basically, this whole thing boils down to getting an interesting game, and forcing people to use a product they want to sell, which absolutely sucks compared to IRC, no less. That alone is fairly lame.

I don't mind GameSpy at all, but GameSpy Arcade is completely anal. Someone ought to record the entire log and post it up here, because I sure as hell am not goign to install that crash-prone spyware on my computer.

I'm sure GameSpy will post a log after it's done. However, I have concerns about the lame-ass nature of GameSpy: Will they edit the log and take out some good bits? And for all we know, it'll turn out like last time's chat, with one or more of the devs sticking around afterwards to chat with us proles, and GS won't put that into the log. I think we'll need to have someone there to keep an eye on things.

I wonder if the questions would be from fan input like the Codex chat.
