Perhaps you remember The Iron Oath, the Battle Brothers-esque mercenary company tactical RPG with awesome pixel art from indie studio Curious Panda Games that was Kickstarted way back in 2017. Development has progressed slowly but steadily in the almost three years that have passed since then, with Kickstarter updates published on a monthly basis. These updates have occasionally been criticized for being sparse on gameplay, leading some to accuse the game of being nothing but awesome pixel art. However, its appearance at the IGN Expo today proves that's not the case. In addition to the new reveal trailer, there's also an eleven minute gameplay session with the developers that showcases combat, dialogue and a bit of the world map.

Very cool. In further news, a free demo of The Iron Oath will become available on June 16th as part of the Steam Game Festival. There's no final release date yet, but I guess it can't be too far away.

I do not like pixel art, fantasy, or care about characters with backstories but I might get around to it.
