There, I pre-empted Spazmo pointing out you could just look these up in the manuals. Hah! Hah!

Thanks to Jessie for emailing me about these.

Well, great. Now I have nothing to say about this.

Except that this is a pretty lame 'feature' since it doesn't really deal with ToEE specifically, but is a simple copy/paste job from the Monster Manual. Frankly, it's a cheap attempt to increase hits, and I personaly frown on any site that would run such a feature. This is just like that other site that just posted random room descriptions from the original module and called it journalism.

I agree. It's pretty much pointless info that may or may not end up in the game. Spells like Open/Close, Hold Portal, etc had little use so far in a CRPG environment.

Well, what's not so great about it is he's posting things from the D&D rules, and those might need altering for the game itself. He actually does the spells and monster thing biweekly, monsters on one day and spells on another. I just figure one news post a week about it is a nice compromise.

I do the monster thing on a weekly basis. And I have received confirmation from Troika about all the monsters that I have posted so far, but because we're a fan site and do not officially speak for Troika, I have to place a disclaimer.

All the spells in the Spell Compendium are in the game, so far. Steve Moret, lead programmer for ToEE, posted the list at the Greyhawk Inn forums last week. So, Open/Close and Hold Portal are in the game, except that they will be tweaked for the game (again, that's why I have that disclaimer up there). The list will be updated whenever there is information.

Not everyone has access to the D&D books. Check out the poll I started at the Greyhawk Inn ... http://vnboards.ign.com/message.asp?top ... replies=16 ... only 40 votes at the time of this post, and 45% do not own any D&D books, yet they're interested in the game.

And I'm not doing it for "hits", like someone mentioned above. By the time the game is released, we'll be a great source of information for the game. So saying that it's for "hits" is very near-sighted of your part. If any information on the site convinces someone to purchase the game, then I can say that the site is a success - and that's something that's not measured in "hits".

Anyway ... be good everyone.

Jesse.

Then why didn't you say so in the first place  Convincing someone to purchase ToEE is a worthy and a noble goal indeed. My blessing goes to you, brother.
