Bryce Baker of Reflexive has taken the time to do an interview with the guys over at 3DAvenue about Lionheart. Topics include multiplayer, AI, item generation, and various other neat things about the game, like this:

3DA: What sort of enemies will the player go up against?

There's a pretty wide range. We have some of the classics from the genre - wolves, goblins, some very good-looking larger winged beasties. No rats, though. The artists also came up with some very nice desert monsters that should look familiar to fans of Fallout. Umm, what else? Titans, a whole slew of undead, various thugs and villains, spirits, twisted animals... it's a long list.

Oooooo.. Fallout-like monsters. Bring on the molerats!

After an evening of rat-slaying in FO2, I think Ive worked out where they got the sound for the molerat (? - lesser molerats ? - I'm talking about the smaller pink rats) dying - its an aluminium baseball bat hitting a stack of eggs. I gets pretty sickening after a while.

I have a question about enemies and LH, that still makes me skeptical. Frankly every screenshot I have seen with combat seems to have the protaganist hugely outnumbered by hostile creatures. And frankly make me a little nervous, since I don't want Harbinger like experience. Not saying LH will be anything like Harbinger, or its predecessor of Diablo clones, but I don't want that sort of combat recipe. Is it just marketing, or will you really be riddled with a plethora of enemies on every screen?

Vivendi seems to be wanting to market this title as a Diablo-like game. Originally BIS's feature page for Lionheart seemed to be ripped straight from Blizzard's Diablo 2 feature page.
