According to that zany site, Circle of Eight and GameSpy, Temple of Elemental Evil has GONE GOLD! Check out GameSpy and Circle of Eight for details. There's no official press release yet, but it'll probably come soon. Also, look out for a ToEE dev chat coming up soon.

Thanks to chrisbeddoes and John Keefer of GameSpy for the heads-up.

So you're using the circle of eight as a source hugh, I'm sorry, but I just find it funny.

Don't take any offense, I find it funny in a good way. BTW, aren't you a staffer for both sites?

No . I saw it in the circle and posted it in the rpg general .
I mentioned it as a quote from the Circle of 8 .

Oh and the circle of 8 was first to announce it i think.

No, GameSpy beat us to it--they emailed me and Ausir about it, actually, presumably because Atari told them first. And I'd bet Eye on Troika beat us, too--they're better connected with Troika than Ausir or I. I wouldn't be surprised if Saint knew long before anyone else, but he didn't post it, so it's a moot point.

As for the Co8 link, well, have site, will pimp, as they say. And hey, we did put it up pretty darned fast. And at least I have props to GameSpy, as it was very good of them to tell us about it. Normally, I"m loath to link anything of GameSpy's--ever notice how you never see news items about GameSpy articles?--, but I gotta give credit where credit is due here.

B t w - Spaz. The Co8 link in the newpost doesn't work for me. Neither does the one in your sig on the Atari boards. Remove the www and all should be peachy. I thought you're site was down a day or so ago when I clicked it, just happened to see you did the same here. I should give you props on that Co8 article and the timeline mess you guys wrote by the way. My own greyhawk knowledge is pretty weak!

Oh, and we didn't "know", at least not officially as they say. :)

Pretty slick for a new site dont'cha think.

So who has their preorders and who's gonna line up at the stores on the 23rd?

Edit: Tp Spazmo, I've noticed that the staffers at Gspy are mixed bag. Some are deccent and some are fascists dictators who rule with an iron fist. I guess it depends on the staffer.

Who has announced TOEE first ?

Who cares .

But interestlingly competition for TOEE coverage has increased .

That game is gonna be huge.

Everybody loves TOEE.

And cooperation is better than silly confrotration.

This is TOEE coverage not 2004 presidential election.

Bingo. I'm not terribly interested in who announced it was gold first. Even if we had posted it last week, Eye on Troika and especially GameSpy would still crush us for unique daily hits. Doesn't really matter who said it first, as long as it gets said--especially since none of us (GameSpy aside) has a paycheck riding on who gets the news out first.

Who gets the actual finished game first, however, is another matter ENTIRELY. I'd fight through whole throngs of of gamers with a machete on release day to get the first copy out of the shipping box and get it home first.

I just hope they don't pull a sierra (Arcanum style), I want this game to be huge and I want Troika to go on to make more great games.

They cannot . Sep 24 is much less than 3 months away.
