<b>JE Sawyer</b>, one of the <a href="http://www.blackisle.com">BIS</a> guys who designed <a href="http://icewind2.blackisle.com">IWD2</a>, was seen lurking in <a href="http://feedback.blackisle.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67440">this thread</a> on the <a href="Http://feedback.blackisle.com">BIS Forum</a> where the discussion is about the multiplayer aspect of the game. Here's part of what he had to say on the subject:
<br>
<br>
<blockquote>To me, the multiplayer component of IWD and IWD2 seemed to take the potential fun of the game, and then subtract a volume of fun equal to lag and the idiocy of other players.
<br>
<br>
"OMG DUDE [PAUSE] I CANT FIND MY SLEEP SPELL!1!11! OK GOT IT GO."
<br>
<br>
*five seconds pass*
<br>
*creatures hop around the screen like Nightcrawler*
<br>
<br>
[PAUSE]
<br>
<br>
"OMG SOMEONE HEAL ME!1!11111111 DUE WHARES MY FIREBALL SCROLL!1!1112224374324Y"
<br>
<br>
*two players drop from lag*
<br>
<br>
(yelled down the hall): "DUDE, WAIT, I NEED TO RECONNECT."</blockquote>
<br>
<br>
You have to love the guy for his honesty. I know I do.
<br>
<br>
Thanks to <b>Aarkon</b> for pointing this out to me.

Yeah...he does have it put truthfully. MP is one of the more convoluted and broken parts of the IE games, with "clusterfuck" as the top word to describe the experience.

Of course, one-on-one duels in BG was kind of fun with a necromancer-fighter.

I still like it that when one person talks to someone, the MP game in IE just stops for everyone else. Same thing with shopping.
