The guys doing Devil Whiskey are still plodding forward with their goal of a November release. Here's a bit from their news page about using demo save games in the full version:

One important improvement - there have been some issues with moving saved games from one version of the demo to another, largely with a somewhat random transformation in the inventories of the party. We have now fixed this problem - saved games should be easily movable from the demo (version 1.2.1 or later) forward (with minimal impact)! As always, questions and concerns are welcome

They also made a bit about shipping and handling a few days ago, which I missed, so here's a little of that:

Even so, we understand that our fans in Europe are a little dismayed by the high costs involved in the physical product purchase. We are working with a group to try to establish local-to-Europe (in the UK, specifically) distribution options. If you'd like to wait to see what happens with that, please feel free to pre-order the download version, and when we establish our European distribution options, you will receive a $20 credit towards that product.

That should make some Europeans a little happier, at least.
