There's a review of Knights of the Old Republic at Action Trip where it gains a lofty 93%. Here's a fun little taste of the rambling:

Whichever way you look at it, Knights of the Old Republic delivers what it's supposed to and more (This game is better than sex - Smap). Actions and basic character movement are very easy to master. Everything is in real-time, but actions can be paused to allow for a more elaborate approach in battle tactics. There are three main things you find yourself using every step of the way: the intuitive camera, the clear-cut inventory, and the practical interface. Herein lays the first obvious distinction between the Xbox and PC versions. The entire system was effectively balanced and optimized to work better with the standard PC controls. Cycling through a wide variety of items and weapons can either be done via shortcut keys or by clicking on icons within the main GUI. When it comes to controls, the brilliant innovation is that players can complete the whole game by using the mouse without so much as touching the keyboard. Of course, players can also play the entire game without a mouse, although you can always combine the two together. In both cases, everything appears to be in order. The control system is very well designed and flows smoothly.

I still get a kick out of people saying the interface was completely redone for this game. There's really not too many PC CRPGs, including past titles from BioWare, that didn't have better interfaces - especially in terms of inventory management.

Many of you are no doubt aware of Bioware's standing when it comes to creating top-notch computer role-playing games.

It's just not funny anymore after reading it for the millionth time.

It's obvious that with Neverwinter Nights, Bioware has set some serious standards in the RPG world

Okay, I simply cannot find the words to respond to that. I don't know whether to laugh or cry

Everything is in real-time

At least he knows what TB and RT are. Thank the Lord!

I opted for both. I cried because the world truly believes that. What? So, 3d graphics are a serious standard in the RPG world? Because that's really all NWN did was introduce pretty graphics. I laughed, well, because it's funny.

Although I think the serious standard people talk about when mentioning NWN is the editing tools and such. Morrowind did the same thing though. And look at both those games, they are just prettied up crap.

Well, they used 3-d graphics. They didn't introduce them. And I wouldn't call them pretty.

You reach a certain point and see that it doesn't matter anymore. People are fast becoming braindead lumps of clay, just waiting to be molded by the people with the more effective marketting campaign.

Yeah, KOTOR fooled me a bit. Despite its flaws I actually really enjoyed it. It's been a while since that's happened.
