After a huge geothermal experiment on Earth, the Earth's core became unstable, eventually causing the planet to explode into pieces. Fortunately, you were relocated onto planet Esperanza before the blast. The remains of Earth have been scattered all over planet Esperanza, creating quite a valuable commodity. However, the Earth's Core may also have landed on this planet. With the Earth's Core, a new planet could be created to sustain life as Earth once did. Beware, evil forces do not want to see another Earth rebuilt and they may threaten anyone who finds the Core.

What are the system requirements?

Looking at the screenshots, I don't think system requirements will be much of a problem:

I could readily ass-pull more plausible SF stories when I was four.

I see, <s>astrophysics</s> <s>logic</s> common sense only exists to be ignored. The game could still be good, but jesus, did they really have to ignore reality so many times in a single setting?

There's probably been odder premise to a game...probably. I'm just picturing some kinda semi-magical Eath core thing buried somewhere deep underground from the impact with some powerful something built atop it.

I reckon it may take a bit for the game to get polished up to the level that 3059 was, kinda like how Gearhead 2 was/is still in the shadow somewhat of Gearhead, though with this art import ability perhaps some folk will come up with some niftier tilesets and whatnot. Tis slim picking for sci-fi Roguelike fare versus Tolkien styled.

I'd reckon it a good idea to give the dev feedback on constructive bits though, what with him listing a contact email. Better game is a better game. The Freeuniverse game of his on the links page also strikes me as something that might be interesting but seems like it isn't very straightforward as far as getting the latest playable version....

And why try to make SF if you intend to shit all over science? They could have invented fantasy setting as dissociated from reality, as they deemed necessary, after all.

Compared to this crap Plan 9 From Outer Space looks like diamond-hard SF.
Will not buy/download/warez.

So that series was 20% furry and 20% gay? I didn't know there was so much decline around even then.

DraQ sticks it to the man again, vowing not to download the free roguelike from Pirate Bay.

How long will the system still think piracy is theft if this noble assault, this heroic act of a reckless rebel continues?

Establishment, your days are numbered...

A person with IQ>70 would easily conclude that I haven't even bothered to check on this RL after reading such wonderful plot premise and thus I don't know (nor care) about it's licence terms.

Well, 1.4 went up at some point today it seems with some fixes.

v1.4:
* Fixed the "Out of memory" exception. This was caused by the "thumbs.db" (or other non-image) trying to be opened. Now only PNGs are recognized (as now stated in the documentation).
* If you try to create a player with the same name as a previous one, you will be asked if you want to replace the old player.
* A link to this site has been placed on the opening form.
* Fixed a bug that caused the level to not be displayed properly on a terrain cell.
* You now need a high enough level floor to support higher-level healing pods and laser traps.
* Reduced the price of the "homing shot" property.
* Fixed a bug that caused your item selection to stray.
* Now purchasing an item won't reset the item selection to the top.
* You can now sell construction items correctly (but they cannot be destroyed).
* Jobs to kill people/monsters now say "Kill" instead of "Destroy".
* Fixed a bug that allowed you to build on zone edges.
* Small improvements to the way effect descriptions are displayed (might not be so jumpy).

That was some quick work.
