<A target=_blank href=http://www.peginc.com>Pinnacle</a>, the publisher of <a target=_blank href=http://www.peginc.com/OurGames/Deadlands.htm>Deadlands</a> PnP RPG, has announced that a <a target=_blank href=http://www.headfirst.co.uk/files/content_files/games/deadlands.htm>computer game</a> based on this zombies & cowboys game is being developed by <a target=_blank href=http://www.headfirst.co.uk>Headfirst</a>. The game is still in early development, and it still doesn't have a publisher.

Unfortunately, unlike <a href=http://www.rpgcodex.com/gamedetails.php?id=178>another attempt</a> at making a Deadlands cRPG, which was cancelled by <a target=_blank href=http://www.interplay.com>Interplay</a> early in 2004 (it was going to be turn-based and use the SPECIAL system), Headfirst's Deadlands is a real-time Action RPG for PC and consoles.

"(it was going to be turn-based and use the SPECIAL system), Headfirst's Deadlands is a real-time Action RPG for PC and consoles. "

This statement and this trend make my ass twitch.

GENESIS engine creates unique levels and missions on-the-fly
I care not! I cannot resist randdomized quests.

I bet this game'll never see the light of day, though.

You got your facts a little wrong, Ausir. The Deadlands thing Headfirst is working on has been in development for a long, long time. Several years, in fact.

I just repeated what was announced by Pinnacle lately. They're the ones who stated that the game is early in development.

It's been off and on in development, but they had those screenshots that were on the site well over a year or two ago. In fact, that site of Headfirst's is older than RPG Codex.
