The impressive thing is that each discussion varies according to the player's preference. Interestingly enough, you are given the freedom to be polite, opinionated, bored, and if you want to cross the line, violence can also be on the menu. Using a violent approach can be fun. Simply select the option, and start wailing away. Nevertheless, such a move could instigate severe consequences, especially if the recipient of said beat down is connected to other influential vampires. So, it's not advisable to go smacking characters in the mug every time you feel like it. Some gamers might be pleased to know that a great portion of the dialogue is crammed with vulgar exclamations and distasteful remarks, so apart from the huge 'M,' you can also throw in an 'R' for offensive language.

Some gamers are not pleased to know that Bloodlines is targeting the lowest common denominator.

The game is playing on a see-saw for me, i'll just have to see if it'll hold up for when I jump on it, or something.

Hmm, my expectations for this game just keep getting lower and lower. I hope that what they mean is that there's the occassional swear word, not that you're constantly cursing. It's obvious that the people at Troika have an inmature side as witnessed in the brothel in Arcanum and the removed equivalent in ToEE, but as long as it's kept to minor stuff like that it's tolerable. If it's something that permeates through the entire game however...

I watched one of the gameplay movies on IGN. The swearing certainly seemed overdone to me, although maybe it's just in that particular part. It may be realistic, but I don't want to play a game and hear some random profanity ever five seconds.

Yeah, VD, you'd better make sure to include lots of cussing in your game or people will think it's for children.

Looks like it. Apparently it's the only way to demonstrate one's maturity. :)

Is this really gonna stop someone from buying the game? As long as it's a good game, who really cares is what I say. I don't like the language all tha fucking much myself, but eh.

The state of insanity.
The point isn't whether or not the game will suck, Vol. The point is that they are making a point of saying "Sup. Tihs gaem will rok ur wordl coz u ken swaer!". Yeah, okay, but is there good gameplay? Or am all I gonna be doing is running around looking at glowing trippy colors that lead me in the directions I need to go all the while cursing up a storm? Fuck, all it takes is a couple of tabs of LSD and a vulgar mouth and you can get that IRL. Of course the trippy colors don't necessarily lead you in the direction you need to go, but that's besides the point. ;)

Edit: So, yeah, I guess the point is whether or not the game will suck. D'oh! :P
