Big and stompy robot rogue-like Gearhead has been upped to version 0.812. Here's a list of the new additions:

Talents have been added. These are like feats from D&D, or perks from Fallout.

Configuration file support.

Surplus mecha no longer follow the PC everywhere.

PC can now join Hwang-Sa Temple.

Victory files contain much more information than before.

As usual, numerous bugs were fixed and game balance was improved.

Every game needs Perks like Fallout.

It never works for me. It doesn't even show me that, it just takes aeons to connect to the site and doesn't even reach any page. Though i have no problems downloading the program.

I've gotten fairly bored with other rogue-likes, but Gearhead always keeps my interest. Perhaps its the prospect of rolling up a "J-Pop Idol" character.

I'd actually like Gearheads more if it weren't so Nippocentric.

Actually, it's Hangukocentric. Most of the place names and foreign words are Korean. As for the story of the game, I've always felt that it's archetypically Canadian. I can't really articulate why but that's just the feeling I get when I review my own work.

One more thing. If you're having trouble downloading from the geocities page, you can go directly to the files mirror at gearhead.roguelikedevelopment.org.
