The official Silent Storm: Sentinels site over at Nival is now live. There's not too much there, but here's a list of the features from it:

New campaign places you in new territories and a whole new conspiracy

Earn money on missions and weaponry, hire better mercenaries

Use latest postwar weapons to decimate an even better trained enemy

Take on new mission objectives, such as infiltration, demolition and assassination

Choose your weapons wisely - new reliability ratings affect durability & performance

Adjust difficulty levels to match your gaming style

Selling weapons found on the battlefield was one thing I wanted in the original. That makes me happy!

Yes, that's a welcome change. I'm not all that fond of weapon maintenance, but at least it makes the engineer more useful. I just hope that there's more to it than repairing your gun after firing x amount of rounds. More personality to the mercs and less repetitive VO's would be other nice changes. Then again, I'd be pretty content with the original game + AK-47's galore.

Less frequent VOs would be fine with me. I've had this game barely a week and I've already turned off the VOs--Rocco and Klaus are obnoxiously repetitive, and Holly's accent is awful.

Another thing I hope they tweak is the interrupt skill. They need to add a hotkey which means "No more interrupts for this character this turn." I'm tired of snipers getting 3-4 interrupts per turn when they're seven miles away from the current front line and lying prone with 2 APs left.

Don't get me wrong, though, I love this game. It's just got these minor-yet-annoying UI problems like bad spelling.

No, I think I saw somewhere it's supposed to be a standalone, but I could be wrong.
Heck, I'm not finished with the original and already looking forward to an expansion. :D
I'm currently tryin' to prove that I can go on with 2-4 hours sleep/night.
Long since a game engulfed me like this one has, even more than UFO:Aftermath, but that doesn't say too much, eh.

I find some VOs quite humourous: i.e. "It's nice to kill without paperwork" or "We have big plans for your women!" still makes me smile, but yes, some are annoying and some are too long.
