There's a new release of <A href="http://www.geocities.com/pyrrho12/programming/gearhead/">Gearhead</a> available on the <A href="http://gearhead.roguelikedevelopment.org">Gearhead mirror</a> at <A href="http://www.roguelikedevelopment.org">Roguelike Development</a>. The new version is <A href="http://gearhead.roguelikedevelopment.org/gh-0843-sdlwin.zip">0.843</a> and there are now two graphics files, <A href="http://gearhead.roguelikedevelopment.org/gh-0843-sdlimage.zip">standard size</a> and <A href="http://gearhead.roguelikedevelopment.org/gh-0843-sdlmini.zip">mini sized</a>. Here's a list of the changes:

<ul><li>New graphics. Several mecha by Omega, several people by me. Plus there's now a hot dog cart.</li><li>New adventures and items. Want to learn more about GARU serum? Now your PC can have some!</li><li>Can now use enter key when attacking (gflooker.pp)</li><li>Fixed robot construction/weapon token bug (backpack.pp)</li><li>All personal items should now have mass (PC_Equipment.txt)

If you find exceptions, please report them.</li><li>Fixed lancemate swap over water exploit(pcaction.pp)

But, I added a jet pack to the equipment list.</li><li> Ejection on world map should now work properly (pcaction.pp)</li><li> Unpiloted mecha no longer moved on world map (arenaplay.pp)</li><li> Characters won't board immobile mecha (arenaplay.pp)</li><li> Items shouldn't be deployed in water any more (locale.pp)</li><li> Lancemates can now use SF:1 mecha (arenaplay.pp)</li><li> Added names-above-heads mode, NAMESON config option (sdlmap.pp)

This was a frequently requested option; hopefully it won't run slowly.</li><li> SDL starts in windowed mode; added FULLSCREEN config op (sdlgfx.pp)

There were too many problems with the fullscreen mode. It doesn't appear to work on any WinXP computers at all... I don't know about Linux, and haven't recently tested it on other Windows platforms. More work needs to be done on this.</li><li> Some new concept art uploaded to the ftp site, including my idea for the Savin.</li></ul>
