Gee the packaging alone almost makes me want to buy the game...

...but then I remember it's not 1985 and CRPGs have moved on a bit since the original Bard's Tale.

I guess the game looks nice and old school, but I could only play the demo for 10 minutes before I gave up - it was *too* old school.

I don't think I'd mind the old school gameplay, but then I'd have to have good writing, non-linearity and other RPG-stuff like that to keep me interested. And somehow I have a feeling that "old school" excludes this in favour of more monsters to kill in linear plots with occasional monologues. I don't think I managed to find anything that said that Devil Whiskey wasn't like that, but maybe it isn't? Not that I'm really interested in a fantasy RPG anyway, so consider this a comment on old school in general. :)
