GameSpot has a preview of Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines, which covers Chinatown as well as some aspects of the gameplay. Here's a bit on Chinatown:

In the Chinatown hub, you'll meet Ming Xiao, head of the Kwei-Jin, or the Eastern vampires in White Wolf's universe. The Kwei-Jin are different from Western vampires in that they don't feed on blood but rather on chi, the life force contained in all things. They also view their vampiric nature as a sort of Zen enlightenment rather than as a curse, like Western vampires. As a result, Ming Xiao's approach to your character in conversation can be haughty, depending on your responses to her baiting. Boyarsky explained to us that your character's responses will be based on his or her abilities and the type of vampire he or she is.

Western vampires view vampirism as a curse? How very GOTHY!

Thanks, Mr. Teatime of Duck and Cover for the link!

Well nothing new except the gameplay movies. I watched them in a small window but I still got the game atmosphere. From now on they`re only going to show us the combat part. We have already seen the rest.

Well, even if it is a curse at least if you are a chick it seems to come with a free boob job.

I'm seriously worried about some of these Vampire chicks - I mean IRL they would all have major back problems.

Sigh - I'm looking forward to the game, but not explaining to my wife that the jiggletech is not some kind of weird porn but rather part of the game-designers "artistic vision".

Tell her the jiggle is actually a Floatation Device perk for female characters. When she asks you if it works, tell her Activision were mean publishers and rushed the game out of the door before Troika could add bodies of water.

Ming doesn't have much in the way of breasts, and she's fairly ugly looking. In fact, she kind of looks like an Asian drag queen.

Isn't making fun of V:TM for being Gothy sort of like making fun of D&D for having elves?

I think I have made fun of elves in D&D before. Pretty sure. :)

Hey, you're kinda right. Congrats to Rex on getting a cameo in a Troika game.

even the Western ones look fairly ugly too, if you ask me, though the Western ones seem to be very well endowed in the way of chests.

I find the characters generally ugly looking (is that what they mean by Goth?). is it me or is it the setting?

I was talking about the western vampires. I think the whole point of eastern vampires in V:tM is that they're not ultragoth mascara wearers.

Ask Spazmo why that happened, Saint. I don't much appreciate people coming on the website just to post what a filthy chink I am. I guess it's only a joke when the subject of the insults is an untermensch.
