<a href="http://www.3dgamers.com/:>3D Ganers has a new trailer for Dungeon Lords if you're looking to check out the action CRPG being developed by Heuristic Park. The high resolution version of the movie is around 33MB while the low resolution one is 13.5MB.

Having watched it, I have one question. Why, Dreamcatcher? Why are you publishing this? WHY? You guys can do so much better.

Okay, two questions. How come health bars from monsters are bad and ruin immersion, but we're still treated to seeing damage numbers displayed on the screen? It's meaningless to know I've smacked something for 4 hit points damage if I have no idea how much that actually hurt the monster in terms of a quick reference point of how much health it has.

If the game turns out to have gameplay similar to Blade of Darkness or Rune, I think I'll enjoy it. Those aren't RPGs, but I don't really expect this game to be an RPG either except in name.

Is it just me, or is the frame rate shocking in that trailer? I am really looking forward to the game, but I think they should find a good PC for release trailers on as that didn't really do it any favours.

I was hoping this would be like Gothic, I'll be disappointed if it is just an all action game, although Rune was quite fun.

I love the on-screen dialog at about 1:07 in the movie:

"We ceaselessly march to slaughter you!"

Ohhhh...I'm shaking in my boots...please don't ceaselessly march over me!

Could be a bad translation but it doesn't bode well.

It's not a translation. It's an American (or at least western and anglophone, not sure if DW works in the US) game.

Yeah, it's like please don't be careless, otherwise you might trip and fall on me instead of marching on me, WTF?

It's a really stupid line.

"We will march upon your dessicated corpse after we slaughter you and the countless others who stand in our path of conquest" would be a much, much cooler line.

I prefer "these boots are made for ceaselessly marching, and that's just what they'll do, one of these days these boots are gonna ceaselessly march all over you"

What's wrong with inhuman screams of rage?

Does the combat look clumsy and awkward to anyone else? That's the first thing I thought when I was watching the video.

Yeah, especially the first part where the character just stumbles through the skeletons.

They managed to lower my expectations further with this trailer.

I thought something similar but decided not to comment because I could just be seeing things :). It seemed like the control system for the characters as well as the animations were horrible.

I haven't seen it yet, but I will and rest assured, it'll probably lower my expectations of this title even further. Come to think of it, why is it even being made? Everyone knows Dungeon Siege 2 and Guild Wars are just going to kick the complete crap out of it.

I just don't see the point.

"I could make my game--but some other guy is already making a game that'll be better than mine, so I won't bother."

The industry will go FAR with that mentality.

It's called filtering out the garbage. Doesn't it make you a bit tired to see Paul W.S. Anderson churning one movie out after another?

The industry won't go farther with the exact opposite mentality, either. In fact, the industry suffers from that mentality. The industry right now is all about, "I can make my game, and someone else is making a better game that's similar, so I'll make my game and be a success like they are."

Well, yeah, but the point is for every ten games like that, there's probably one that will be better. You can't have the good games without the bad, though fortunately we get to just not buy the bad ones.

Better? What's the point if it's only marginally better but 99% similar to every other piece of crap on the market? You can't polish a turd.

I'd rather stop seeing clones.

Well, when I said better, I meant a new game that does something different, new, and innovative and redefines the genre or whatever. The point is that devs shouldn't just give up on their games because the next guy is already making one.
