<p>Bitmob somehow managed to get into an <a href="http://bitmob.com/articles/an-honest-conversation-with-bioware-falling-from-grace" target="_blank">honest conversation</a> with BioWare, which surprises me because I thought they're sticking to marketing drivel nowadays.</p>
<blockquote>
<p>I kicked in the door to BioWare's office like a boss. It swung wide, nearly crumpling from the force of my Adidas shoe. I strode in and took stock of the situation. BioWare was sitting at his desk, flabbergasted; his gold-wire spectacles were locked on me. He had changed since the last time we spoke. <br /><br />Gone was his once well-kept Merlin beard. In its place was now a scraggily mess of facial hair. His glasses were taped in the middle and his skin tone implied he hadn't seen sunlight in months. Above his computer station on the far wall was a black surveillance camera, which I could only imagine was EA keeping an eye on their most prized possession.<br /><br />"Rick, what are you doing here?" BioWare asked, startled.<br /><br />I shoved BioWare's guest chair aside so I could stare down at him.<br /><br />"I'm taking a break from my beef with Hollywood to figure out what the hell is going on with my favorite developer. Believe me, I'd rather be out there now fighting the good fight instead of being here in Edmonton. I hate Edmonton." My tone was harsh. The only Canadian city less interesting than Edmonton was Calgary, and I had just driven through Calgary.<br /><br />"W-what do you mean? Everything is going well. Dragon Age 2 sold a lot of-"<br /><br />"Dragon Age 2 sucks," I cut him off curtly.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">Even the statue on the Kirkwall map does a double facepalm. Coincidence?</p>

I am unsure how to react to this.

Edit: I have decided to hate it. Fucking stupid article.

Really? This drivel? :(

This article and the author should be burnt up for this. Like I mean what exactly was... the point? I guess he believes EA is behind everything? But... Sigh.

It didn't convey whatever it was it was meant to - it was short and not very sweet.

The happy ending is really disgusting. He should have spat at Bioware face and then burning down the office with him locked inside covered in kerosene.

It's been a month already. I'm tired of this DA2 bullshit.

I'm not even going to comment on that article...

It's like they tried to go Codex Lite™ on BioWare, but were too afraid to say what they actually though.

Perhaps too much BioWare cock in your face makes writing an article difficult...

Do people really believe it's all EA fault?
Haven't people like Warren "DeusEx2" Spector or Peter "fart-on-head" Molyneaux teached people something?

We've lost the game. Codex tried to warn everyone that Bioware were declining the genre since 1998. We're pretty far from our objectives here

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
"Dragon Age 2 is shit, a huge disappointment for every fan, the new ME2 DLC is just about the same, and it's probably the influence of EA that turned Bioware to shit lately.

But haha I trust that their next game will be good even though all signs point to the contrary because... because... BECAUSE IT IS SO."

So wait, what happens in Arrival that upsets the guy so much? I haven't played any of the downloadable content. Story spoilers please.

The comments are shit

Fun read, great job. I think Mass Effect is the greatest video game ever made. I think Mass Effect 2 is the greatest disappointment of my entire gaming career.

Dragon Age 2 is still a bunch of fun if you overlook the reused environments and potential they had to work with. Same goes for Arrival. If you go into Arrival with low expectations, enjoy the shooting, and forget what it could've been, you'll have a pretty decent time.

Right? What the hell is this supposed to be?

Funnily, the tone and the attitude in the inte... uh, article, is commonplace behaviour in certain parts around here.

EA paid 860 mil for both companies. Nobody pays that kinda money without having high expectations on the return.

"On the financial side, EA CFO Warren Jenson said that that he expects games from the two studios to generate over $300 million in annual income during EA's 2009 and 2010 fiscal years. He later said that number would increase once the BioWare MMORPG launches "in the back half" of that period. "

Well, guess what? Pandemic has already been shut down, 228 people thrown out. 300 mil didn't happen. Now the pressure is on Bio to deliver fast, "game a year" fast, or be stripped for parts.

PS. The article is shit.

Westwood Studios, based in Las Vegas, currently has a five to six percent share of the PC game market. The company, and its 150 employees, will remain in Nevada. "We were courted by many companies, but in the end, we knew that EA would provide us with the best infrastructure and support that we need," said Sperry, Westwood's president and CEO.
