Team XBox has scored an interview with some of the BioWare Bunnies about their Star Wars CRPG, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Here's a slice of the pie:

How does Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic stack up against the only other serious Xbox RPG, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind? How do they compare in terms of scale, gameplay, and real honest-to-goodness "role playing freedom"?

James O:Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is a different style of game. It is closer to Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn than Morrowind. There is more focus on the story, whether it is the main story line or one of the many subplots. Character development is also given a lot of focus; the party members each have a unique personality, subplots and background stories. Tactical combat is a big component to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which is something that is hard to achieve in a single character game.

It's hard to achieve with a passive combat system, that's for sure. I fail to see how click on your guy, click on bad guy, watch achieves much in the way of tactics anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't BG:DA a hack'n'slash for consoles? How can they say

when they say it's closer to Dark Alliance than Morrowind?

They said it was closer to BG2:SoA, not BG:DA.

However, what I find funny is that they use a mana system to determine force power usage. What do you want to bet there's Midichlorin Potions to help you regain that mana?

Oops, my bad. Sadly, I can see what you say about midichlorin potions. I reckon they'll have some sort of 'recharge' system though instead, like the Force is some sort of naturally renewable energy.

They'll just make you sit down for thirty seconds. You'll be swinging those rainbow colored dual lightsabers in no time, you ubermunchkin, you!
