<a href="http://www.xgr.com/">XGR</a> has posted up their <A href="http://www.xgr.com/index.php?id=4219">best of the year</a> stuff. The winner in the CRPG category was <a href="http://www.morrowind.com">Morrowind</a>. Here's a sample:

The reason I chose Elder Scrolls III: Morrowindfrom Bethseda Softworks is not only because the game is incredibly gorgeous but because the sheer size of the environments is unlike no other game I have played. Perfect example - usually in a game when you come to a lake you look for a way across to continue your exploration. Not so in Morrowind, you should be exploring beneath the water and more. It seems every nook and cranny is packed with stuff. Top that with the editor the developers used to make the game and you can make your own Morrowind adventure to share with your friends.</blockquote>

<a href="http://www.morrowind.com">Morrowind</a> is one of the few games where being underwater doesn't scare me because they don't change the controls in a silly fashion. I like that.
