Dungeon Siege II is bound to be a CLASSIC when it is finally released. From what we've played so far it's turning out to be a GREAT GAME. It already plays very well and looks FANTASTIC (although the engine isn't much different than the original Dungeon Siege engine), and it has new textures and special effects. Gas Powered Games looks to have another GREAT GAME on their hands, we're almost positive that it'll be quite the TIME KILLER once it's released.
Subliminal messages in akshun!

This is quite possibly the most over-inflated preview I've ever read, bar none. This makes Gamespy looks like the fucking Codex.

my take

As a relative newcomer to the Codex, I fear the predictable reprisals to my following statement, but...

I think Dungeon Siege II looks like it will be fun.

There, I said it. No, I don't think it will redefine the genre, nor do I think it will bring a new depth to the role-playing experience. I just think that, like Diablo, it will be fun to play.

Actually the beta on Fileplanet isn't bad. It requires player interaction and there's a lot less automation than the previous game. For instance you have to actually click on stuff to kill them now. Repeatedly, even. To swing, or use skills. Like Diablo 2, really.

Well, I liked DS (so sue me) and I liked the beta of DSII... so yeah. But still, it's an overhyped piece of trash journalism in that quote.

I actually like DS a bit too... (In some ways at least)
And i don't really care about the overhyped part, cuz i'm not BUYING it anywayz

Behind you.
I picked up DS for $10 in a jewel case and played it one night. Then I went to bed after about five hours of playing it. When I woke up, I noticed I really had no desire to keep playing it.
