The guys at Video Game Sophistry have left a message in our inbox about the interviews they have done on their show, with Witcher 3's Lead Story Writer Jakub Szamalek on romances and the epilogue as well as with Richard Garriott on Shroud of the Avatar "and how the industry has changed in 40 odd years":

Interviews: Lead Story Writer on Witcher 3 talks Romances and NEW info on Epilogues and how to make sure you experience all of the endings.

Here's little tidbit: "The epilogue choice will be dependent on a final decision, the outcome of which can either save the world and destroy Geralt, a more selfish ending and a mysterious third option that is a crazy mix of both."

Starts at: 21:00

Lord British! Richard Garriott himself, one of the first video game developers ever comes by to talk about his new game, "Shroud of the Avatar" and how the industry has changed in 40 odd years.

Starts at: 31:30

Fuck. Basically it's completely fucking meaningless. Just take one of the options, watch the epilogue, then go watch the 2 other cinematics on youtube. Or Just reload and pick the other ones.

And that 3 ending thingie is just cliche.
Fate of entire humanity is in protagonist hands (by some extraordinary coincidence) :
1) Protagonist sacrifice himself for the entire world's sake
2) Protagonist is selfish and tries to stay alive
3) Sort of weird compromise, usually a 2deep4you outcome where things becomes really weird and the protagonist transforms into something fucked up. The forces at work are ''beyond your understanding'' and start to reshape the whole world and humanity to adapt/prevent the incoming disaster.

I was hoping that with their massive budget, they would try something more consistent, like several different endgame scenarios/locations, depending on what happened in the world and what path you followed. Choices that really have consequences on the gameplay and your playthrough.

I guess they're just faggots after all.

Didn't CDPR at some point say they are not going to do this "press 1 of 3 buttons" or "choose your color" type of ending? I might be mixing devs up here, it's CDPR afterall, but...

K', let's hear Lord British, hope this interviewer is not a retard.

Interviewer said:
"Ultima was the forbearer of that RPG style that is so common in every game now, even Call of Duty game have that sort of RPG style"

K'. I'm done.

Yes, but there are going to be a bunch of different permutations of those three endings based on what you did previosuly.

Fallout New Vegas has a ton of ending variations but there are only four endgames.

Sounds boring and cliche, I liked TW series partly bacause it was never about "saving the world", and now they decided to go mainstream with the last game for some reason.
Anyway, is there any other new info in there or maybe a transcript, don't have any time to listen?

They've actually said in another interview that it's not exactly about saving the world, so I don't know what's up with that
