CD Projekt uploaded a new Witcher 3: Wild Hunt gameplay video to their YouTube channel today. In the video, Geralt visits a rustic village by the name of Downwarren, where he learns about an Ancient Evil That Has Awoken™ from one of the locals. He runs off into the nearby swamp in search of answers, where he fights drowners, and also werewolves, and starts hearing ominous whispers...

As an added bonus, here's another video that CD Projekt uploaded yesterday, in which several of the game's writers and designers explain the essence of the Witcher setting:

The part about monsters in Slavic lore being part of the natural ecosystem is actually pretty cool.

So instead of a political intrigue plot, we get generic Reawakened Ancient Evil shit instead?

Trying to cash in on that Bioware/Bethesda market share I see.

It's a side quest.

Besides, I get the feeling this one might have ended up subverting expectations at least somewhat if they showed the full thing. That villager seems a bit clueless.

Looked great, but MEGA has much better version than the shitty compressed youtube shit.

Looking forward to the whole thing though. Even if for a teaser, 6 minutes is pretty good.

Yeah, I've watched it in the morning. Combat doesn't look bad. No way to tell what it feels like until you play, though.

Looks great to me. Even just as a graphics-porn RPG I'd still be looking forward to it.

If it actually turns out to have some depth to it and an enjoyable story as well, heavan!

If the combat is as terrible as Witcher 2 doesn't matter how big or free-roam the world/content.

Hopefully you wouldn't choose W1 combat over it W2.

Choose style, stand and click. Use signs for a little extra sassiness. No thanks.

Listen to them clicks. I know some people have a hard time adapting to the combat, but I'm excited for the next Witcher. I need my C&C. CD Projekt Red have shown they handle reactivity well throughout chapters; curious to see what they can do in an open world.
