<a href="http://www.taleworlds.com/">TaleWorlds</a> has released a few patches for the recently released alpha demo of <B>Mount & Blade</b>. The current version is <b>7.02</b> and you'll need the <A href="http://www.taleworlds.com/download/mountandblade_0701_upgrade.exe">.701 patch</a> first and then the <A href="http://www.taleworlds.com/download/mount&blade.exe">.702 executable</a>. Here's the changelog:

<blockquote>Here's the changelog for version 0.701:

<br>

<br>
A few other fixes and improvements.
<br>
<br>
Please note that your existing savegames will not be compatible with this new version (Including those created with 0.700)
<br>
<br>
0.702 fixes the starting attributes and makes inventory management add +6 slots again. Also I used an older version of Themida to protect this executable to see how it will perform.
<br>
<br>
I didn't make a full installer. You need to first have version 0.701 installed on your system.</blockquote>
<br>
Horses run slower at night? Wacky.

*snicker*

I can just picture a mother sewing those to her son's armor on little strings...

Makes sense to me. Besides, regardless of whether it does or not, it provides advantages/disadvantages to certain characters at night. Adds to the strategy elements ;)

[offtop]Greetings Sataros. Lurking mode off, I see? :D[/offtop]

Anyway, I suppose that is because of it didn't actually influence anything besides being a prereq for wearing some armors... and that, indeed, sucks.

If it allowed you to move and attack in it faster and utilize the armor better (pretty much like in MW, but not THIS much, meaning getting a certain bonus to protection due to skill in moving and positioning your body in a way that attacks will slide away and/or meet the strongest parts of it) - that would be an other thing.

I bet it’ll be back when it’ll be fully implemented.

Well, i kind of liked the idea of creating some limits for armor usage, and, suppose, expected him to make this skill more meaningful/useful in future versions, not to remove it entirely. That's Bethesdas patented way of dealing with non-working stuff, after all ;)

Well, I suppose it will be back - after all, he didn't implement it to take away at once, I suppose.
Well, we'll see.

Yes, despite my praise for its nice horsey combat, you'd really think he'd have figured out how many skills he wants by now and actually be working on some story of some sort, rather than tweaking combat again and again. Combat is fine. Time to change focus.

Peeved at the save game issue. 0.700 was fine (which I figure is why it was .7 and not .6 something in the first place) but then to ruin a save game for .701 just demonstrates a lack of thoughtfulness.

Cause they fear tripping and breaking a leg :P.

I'm pretty sure horses don't have to see for someone to ride them. I know they blindfold some horses for racing because they don't handle the starting gate that well.

If they blindfold the horses it's just to get them into the barriers. They take it off again before they race. Of course there are also blinkers, winkers, noserolls and such so the horse doesn't get spooked by the other horses around it, and they basically work by blocking off the horses peripheral vision, or focusing their eyes forward.

Not that it really matters, it just means Night > Day if you're trying to be a footsoldier.
