They basically give it their Adult rating and 4/5 stars as well. Here's a bit on aging:

Since there are no time limits in the game, you are free to explore the world in between quests. This freedom provides some entertaining diversions. You can buy houses, get married, change your hairstyle and facial hair, and change your appearance by getting tattoos or by eating well or poorly. You will age, show scars from battle damage, and your character actually looks old and weary by the end of the game. Unfortunately, the people and world around you do not change. At age 65, the woman you married at 18 is still young and beautiful. Similarly, the saplings of your youth are the saplings of your caducity.

Growing old is a bitch, especially if you're the only one doing it.

Another nicely put, even handed review from GamerDad.

That whole "you're the only one who ages" is rather stupid. Talk about ruining any fleeting immersion that the game may have had.

They should have had people aging along with you, and youngsters replacing oldsters when they die, or characters of the appropriate age being promoted to positions after oldies die, or whatever. Otherwise this looks like one of just a bunch of ideas to throw in for the sake of it.

Pretty much it, part of the inicial concept was the world aged at the same time of the player did but since Fable is just half implementation of features ...

I think the player aging was pretty dumb if nobody else was, when I actually meet the Fable Guy mother it looked older she was ...

Haha, at least when you reach 65 the aging stops. Should be this way in real life. Would've loved to have a 103 year old cranky here whaking monsters into oblivion with my trusty cane though.

Get of my lawn you punks!

Aging is odd in the game. You age a year each game day, and you go grey in your 30s.

I was just exploring the site and found this pretty good column discussing using a PC vs. a console.

http://www.gamerdad.com/detail.cfm?itemID=2432

"PC's and consoles are all just games now. As the consoles continue to offer more functions beyond gaming, they become more like PCs. As PCs continue to become easier to set up and configure, they become more like consoles. This is all good news for people like me who prefer to spend as little time as possible doing configuration and as much time as possible enjoying games on their computer. With more big name games set to ship this fall and some of the biggest names in PC games showing no sign of slowing down on the platform, the PC has a very bright future ahead of it. It might never be like 1998 again on the computer, the year that PC gaming was probably at its very peak, but it's far better than analysts and even armchair soothsayers would have you believe. I got caught up in the hype myself to a certain extent. I started to believe I didn't need the computer for games. Now that I'm back on the inside with current hardware, I realize again how dumb that idea was."

Fable is clearly not a pure RPG in my eyes. It just lacks the core aspects: choices that have substantial consequences and dialog as a major means of communication.

Fable is more of an action-adventure with RP elements. BUT it's a very good game of this class, oh yes. I really liked it. I did not enjoy it roleplaying-wise, but I did enjoy it overall - the style, fighting, humor, etc. Very solid.

I assume that you just have her replaced every couple of years, but what do I know?
