Which game is the better one?

I haven't played any enough, but Gates of Troy disappointed me because it is not a "historical game", for example there are hoplites that should not exist for historical context. It's an adaptation of the Iliad using the same mechanics from another of their games (Spartan).

Chariots of War has a more painful interface and people say it is a worse game. But it uses resources, styles and units within the context of the Bronze Age.

Field of Glory II is hardly an 4x, but wasn't there a Persia expansion for Field of Glory: Empire?

Ah, misread the title and just posted any strategy games I could think of.

And yes, FoGII got a Rise of Persia expansion set during the Achaemenid era.
