I believe you mean the Hylden from Blood Omen 2. They looked kind of similar.

It doesn't look like Hylden at all to me.

However, I'd be willing to bet that that's a particularly ugly Pureblood or a Half-Blood Yuan-Ti.

if you say so. Well, the 'face' is kind of similar, so is the body build.

Yea, the face is similar, as is the shrivelled body. However, the Hylden defining features, the head-spines and scissor hands are missing.

But really, anyone got other ideas what the critter could be.

Since Obsidian always tries to implement WotC's vision of monsters' appearances in NWN2.. I guess we could find this monster in some Forgotten Realms material and see its stats. :)

I think it's some kind of yuan-ti witch/shaman.

Yuan-Ti come in different forms: snake with face and arms and scaled humanoid. I'm guessing it's just the scaled humanoid yuan-ti.

In the 10 minutes demo video where Rorie presented the new classes there was a humanoid yuan-ti as a player character and it didn't resemble this one. Could be another type.. sure.

There are three types of Yuan-Ti. The latter two of these have randomized features in PnP.

Pureblood is the one that was added to player races. They only have reptilian flavour to their features.

Half-Bloods are closer to snakes, but the amount varies. Most likely the critter is one of these.

Abominations are the ones that might look like the "snakemen" Yuan-Ti.

Anthony?

But that thing looks really mean.. I like it.

I noticed another thing; it has the same skeleton as a hag. Look at the arms' posture, knees and the whole body as well.

And please Anthony, I don't want to be attacked by the same group of monsters I had already killed - ever again.
And I mean by same group = same stats + same appearance + same configuration.
I want them to be finite! Plss. :(

I once asked a DM:

"If we kill enough deer in this forest, will they end?"
"Yes."
"And if we kill enough orcs, will their numbers end?"
"No."

Would you be satisfied if the number and appearance of trolls in a random encounter is randomized?

Also, would you be satisfied if you made sweet man love to a muscle-bound athletic gay faggot?

No, I wouldn't be satisfied by endless respawns under any circumstances.

Depends.
Why do you ask? You're neither muscle-bound nor athletic. You're just an rpg geek.
Please, stop derailing threads.

It is probably something Yuan-Ti related...I'll ask Jeff Husges what it is.

As for the limiting the encounters, sorry that is not my call. The designers built that system.

I know.. you're a nice and intelligent guy.

BUT YOU PROGRAMMED IT INTO THE GAME!
Program it out, just for me.. pleeaase. I am kidding.. I wouldn't burden you with such things.. but I hope it will be possible to make them one-time encounters with an override.
