Adventure games with C&C and multiple solutions to puzzles ?

If you can stand FMV adventure games, they too were experimenting with C&C and multiple endings. In addition to Pandora Detective, mentioned earlier

Most serious example mentioned here is probably The Last Express. Blade Runner has multiple endings and some very interesting randomization(in one playthrough a character will be an android, next one he won't). Other than that the most you will get are branching paths and fake choices that lead to the same ending.

Gabriel Knight series had a bunch of optional puzzles and sidequests imho, specially the third one. It was completely linear though.
