Pointless thread, devs love us now (thanks, Brian!), gtfo if you don't like the way things run around here.
Wasn't intended to be a thread. You can thank Codex mods for that.

What do you mean "not being nice"? We aren't bullies in the schoolyard telling some kid he's fat. This also isn't a safe space and that's the point. This is probably the only place on the internet where we can, and do, discuss games honestly and without much fanboying. We sometimes even have informed opinions. Like I said, if I were a developer I'd jump on that opportunity, there is almost nothing better than knowing what other people honestly think of your work. Yes, most people's opinions are going to be shit and useless, that doesn't mean there won't be something constructive in the miasma.
It's not worth wading through the "hurr durrr California cuck" trolls, though. Maybe Sawyer actually reads threads here, who knows, but engaging with the bottom dwellers that infest this fine, fine unfiltered forum doesn't really gain him anything. If you actually read SA, there's been quite a bit of pointed criticism of Pillars offered there. Much the same that has been said here, but without the rampant jackassery.
Fuck off, braindead SA faggot.
nigger"Better" is relative. The original question was, "Why oh why don't devs hang out here?? How dare they choose other venues to communicate with fans when the Codex is obviously da best."
The answer is, because other forums aren't a burning pile of troll. Yes, there's a ton of good insight here. Too bad about the rest.
I think Fry is saying the Codex is not honest with itself. Also, I don't think "creativity" in general needs the Codex. You should not waste time with every shitposter who drops witty one-liners just because he doesn't have anything better to do, you should obviously ignore those people, but there are also plenty of other people who aren't like that and are more honest with you on sites like this one. And also, there are plenty of shitty/negative people on mainstream sites, but they just manifest their stupidity in a passive-aggressive way instead of directly. Surrounding yourself only with people that have politically correct views and are not honest with themselves or with you is harmful and is killing creativity. That's why a lot of games today are shit.
This is me.not to mention usually also obsessed about pretending to be a girl instead of a boy - ostensibly (but not really) so they can look at a hot butt for the 50 or so hours that the game lasts.
So, is SA better than Codex? I am looking for other forums to join.
Are you sure?Devs come here because this is the audience, and they have to connect with the audience.
If you want to talk the Biowhore, that is another kind of entity entirely. Bioware is a construct owned part and parcel by EA, which company has an army of PR people and suits to do the dirty work of both ends, while it keeps its devs in a bubble of isolation, letting them out only occasionally to give short talking points they have memorized to the press (short, because you can't trust them with more). So, mostly their devs exist in their bubble, and what they do in their bubble is string together whatever things the result of the latest 20,000 focus groups tells EA is currently popular. And what is popular is always, if you are following along, absolute drivel. Are you sure?Devs come here because this is the audience, and they have to connect with the audience.
If you've played any Bioware RPGs lately, you'd think the audience was trans quasi demi-queer LGBTQIBBQBBW POCs and not us wiato pigus.
