Apeiron has been defunct for 6 years, and has nothing to do with this.

FYI, apparently "Apeiron" is the title of this "remake", not of whoever is doing it.

And the point of this being? Just so people can "enjoy" a new, more detailed looking version of Bastila Shan? With the added content being of course, an infinite amount of badly written, completely contrived, nonsensical fetch quests, oh yes, the experience with the game would no doubt be improved tenfold.

These programmers could have directed their efforts and energy into making a brand new RPG game set in the Star Wars universe, or something entirely different altogether. A complete, utter waste of time, this is, no Yoda pun intended.

So yeah, two outcomes for this:

1. Project is abandoned in a year or two (Most likely)
2. Disney sends a C&D when the project actually looks like it might get done

Your ignore list.

2. Disney sends a C&D when the project actually looks like it might get done
3. Project is never finished. Then another team comes in, picks up where Team 1 stopped, finishes the ship up, and releases to the masses.
3.1. Everyone praises Team 2.
3.2. Team 1 butthurts heavily and threatens to abandon the project (which nobody wants anymore since Team 2 already released it).

I'll admit the first thing that popped in my head when I read this was "Why KOTOR?"

I mean, all the game really needs is a re-release similar to what KOTOR II got, with updated widescreen support and such. The game hasn't really aged badly enough for a remake to be considered necessary or even desirable. Having played the two Brotherhood of Shadow mods, which was an even more painful experience than having my wisdom tooth removed, I shudder to think what 'genius' new additions these modders can think up.

Another pointless remake for a game that works just fine and it's widely available for peanuts in your favorite shops.

Imagine if they spent all this energy making something new and cool instead of warming over a decent but not spectacular old game that might get shut down any time because copyrights. Oh well...

Well, they can redo the combat. Make it interesting and reduce the trashmob encounters. I'd love to see something like Jedi Academy.

These kind of projects shouldn't be made public imo. They should make it on their own and then send it to companies. After all Commander Keen was made out of the Mario Bros 3 tech demo id made for a possible pc port.
