I like the black guy in the back. Like a broke, out of work Mr. T except with a butt for a chin.

Surely one of these men are to your physical or emotional taste? If not, there's a volcano, which is strongly indicative of high fantasy since one of them was cast in the oscar award-winning Return of the King movie.

Fun fact: I was going through my ISO collection over the weekend and Forsaken Gods was in there, for reasons I cannot fathom. Got prompty deleted obviously.

You mad fool! There's a new Community Patch about to be released that will make it playable, in the same way the CP turned Gothic 3 into a fine game.

...Well it will be better than Arcania at any rate...... :/

Yeah well I'd need to do a full run of Gothic 1-3 first... about high time too. OTOH even then I'd rather be doing some multiplayer Two Turds Worlds hint hint

I'm guessing the LP will come out after you give your brian some time to recover ;)

Some TW multi, I'll be up for hopefully soon enough.

It's good to know that with Gothic and indeed Two Worlds that there are still things that I've played and in some cases endured, that you haven't. ;) :P Was starting to feel a bit inadequate with your and DraQ's voluminous knowledge and experience regarding so many RPG's!

Seeing as how this expansion is coming so soon and with the glory of Arcania fresh in my mind, I think I'll wait to finish the exp. and do an inclusive LP of them both. I don't have the free time or the skill to easily make an LP, so shit, you'll have to wait at least one more month.

Thanks, now you made me think of that goddamned Björk song about volcanoes and airplanes again. Damn it.

I'd like to see more volcanoes in my fantasy games though. Perhaps they should take a more active role though, usually they just sit there in the background with some glowing texture and occasionally things are thrown into them. Even more rarely a mad genius builds a fortress around an active volcano, but that's never really happened in a proper fantasy story I think.

In fact, the most active volcano in a fantasy RPG must be in Risen, where it would occasionally rumble and make the earth move beneath the PC's feet as tiny balls of fire would fly out of the volcano's mouth in the distance. It was a beautiful sight, really, but hardly enough. I really think that volcanoes should be treated with more respect, for they are quite like the dragons.

After all, they both breathe fire and are hot and one could sacrifice attractive young ladies to them. However, both have a gentler, wiser side as well, and, having been around for a long time, could have a valueable insight to impart upon an adventurer. A volcano could be a cunning villain, but also a helper - a mentor figure even.

Just for reference, make sure you don't sacrifice young ladies to a vegan volcano!

I agree tho, volcanoes are hardly used at all, and yet they could provide great mood, environment and entertainment value. Surely more than the sewers, which are basically is 95% of the RPGs. Fuckin hell how much I hate the sewers.
