Are there any S/JRPGs with good itemization?

I hadn't really thought of it before as it's not really a typical jrpg, but One Way Heroics has been eating up a lot of my time lately.

I bought this for 50 pence in the steam sale and ended up playing it for about 7 hours straight before the sun rose.

Just finished The Last Story today for Wii (via emu)
And this jrpg has the best loot system from all jrpgs played

What it looks like:
Game has weapons and armors (no shieds, accesories etc)

Armors are just types there are only few unique ones. So you have something like stealth armor heaavy armor and so on. None of them is better than rest just different. For example Heavy armor has damage reduction %, other type of armor has something else. So you will be using all of them.

Weapons is where it really gets interesting. Only about 30% of weapons are just straight damage. More than half weapons have abilities you use in combat. Sure they have different power but most of the time you choose weapon for combat instead of using one all powerful weapon.
All weapons also are up gradable so they are still valid more or less in end game especially since most of power of character comes from lvl not weapon itself.

So i often for example used Death Saber which had 10% chance to insta kill normal mob where i had better weapons damage wise in my arsenal. Or when i had some trouble with my HP i used sword that had chance to restore 25% of my HP with chance of 30% every attack. Various anti-monster types. Like knight sword +5 which in end game has rather lackluster damage but at the same time it has *1.6 to killing spiders and beasts which essentially outdamages most of stuff on those monsters.

My favorite was Ogre club. After upgrading Ogres couldn't block it and essentially this made them easy as hell to kill.

Upgrade system needs resources for last tier of upgrades. So some weapons go to +5 some to +9 some transform into other weapons like Para Axe into Lighting Axe.
All weapons and armor types have different look so that is definetely look for weapon look porno watchers.

Some of weapon combinations also can be interesting though only one character uses two weapons at once though + for game that aside from 2 mages doesn't restrict use of any weapon on any characters.

Other honorable mention:
FFIX. Abilities learned from weapons and armor is great stuff to use some lower tier weapons.

Aside from that i think that is all. Most of the time jRPG didn't evolve from 90 era dungeon crawlers aproach to weapons and armor as more attack = better weapon.
