I am not up to date on scholarship in regards to ancient Egyptian population, but why would it be strange that random NPCs are black? I thought the nobility even before Ptolemaic times was closer to Levant and Mediterranean, but some rando trash on the street?

Basically, the ancient Egyptians were descended from Levantine pops, had a little subsaharan african admixture by the ptolemaic period, and then the Islamic slave trade brought in more.
