Yes it looks like Gothic but the most things aren't inspired by Gothic. They are inspired by the book which has a dirty, bloody and corrupted world , brutal and fast combats,the monsters and persons looks like in the book and the choices are very important for the book and thats the reason why the story of the book is so good. Exactly like Gothic, but the book is older than Gothic ^^.

If you read the book, you will understand why the game looks like Gothic.
