Don't be embarrassed, we all went through a similar phase.

In case you didn't get the memo, only avatars from games are accepted, preferrably RPG's.

People just don't realize, but codex does in fact have custom avatars

You just need to:
  1. Make a 2-hour shovelware RPGmaker game
  2. Include a custom picture of your choice in that game as a character portrait
  3. Upload said picture to this thread
  4. Voila!

I made some avatars from Widenyo.

ZIP file here

Got tired of cutting out pictures so I started skipping the obscure ones. If there's someone you'd like let me know and I will cut another batch. Game has 156 characters so there should be two moe sheets if I can find them.

(I'd be grateful if someone could provide me with a full set of the dialogue portraits; the resource ripper for PW that I've found doesn't open these files and the only version of the game floating around has a bug where player units will stand still and get killed so I can't progress through the game to screencap them)

I think what he meant is that it shouldn't be mixed up in the same folder as the classic artwork.
No, I would rather the Codex didn't include any artwork from decline versions of "D&D", although if this must occur, then at least have Fairfax or someone else with a modicum of taste assemble avatars from the "D&D 5th edition" art that is relatively good.

I should probably make some Ruppel avatars at some point. Too bad most of his pieces are unavailable in high resolution and/or not scanned from the books:

Stirring up any sort of controversy was the last of my intentions when I posted those D&D 5E avatars.

The pictures I picked are from the Player's Handbook for the most part, save for a few ones taken from the DM's Guide. The artwork is hit or miss, with many of the better pictures being hard to be cropped as avatars due to their composition or perspective; the large cast of artists involved gives an inconsistency feel as well.

My apologies to those who found my post to be objectionable─I was merely trying to fill the slot for a D&D 5E avatar gallery to the best of my capacity. If anyone comes up with good avatars from this D&D edition, it will of course be normal that they replace the ones I submitted.

I've been hungry all night and it's still only 8:15 AM, so I made some food avatars.

ZIP file here

EDIT: The file is behind a ton of pop-ads. I will look for a better upload site. Sorry about that.
