I don't think they'll outrun Matt Hansen's nonsense but unless they hand deliver a 'barve' scene to players just as they are releasing in February then they should avoid total catastrophe.

That's not the point. For one thing, Chris' tweet seemed to imply that Josh Sawyer was refusing to work on Avowed because he dislikes the game that much. Evidently, that's not true. I'm not trying to say anything about the game's quality.

This is the correct take. Chris is intentionally using negative framing in order to drive a narrative that isn't true. Anyone with knowledge of the situation can see that, but he's banking on people without said knowledge to read that a very specific way.

Sawyer could have retired and Chris' tweet would still read 'correctly' but the narrative he's trying to drive would still be just as untrue.

But on a general note, using anything said in public to prove that someone is a leftist is an absurd exercise, since the vast majority of non-leftists would still publically argue in favor of diversity and inclusion if put on the spot. Refusing to do so would see them risk their job and work relationships and suffer needless drama. I've seen wokes come into a workplace and ask everyone to jump, and then have people you'd consider right-wingers respond with "how high?".

Sensible people avoid drama and don't gamble with their livelihood.

This is silly. Linking the political movement of the LGBMICROWAVE+ movement to civil rights is ridiculous, and pure hyperbole. Some needed context is required to recontextualize the discussion; here's the reality, weirdos are phishing a harmful ideology that it is predicated on the mutilation of the privates, whilst seeking to eliminate traditional norms that are scared and necessary to the function of society; on top of harming the youth with gender ideology that only serves to harm their development. All of this is eroding society, all of this is harmful, all of this is turning our youth into future genuine pigs who will become slaves to the pharmaceutical industry that cares not for their well being, but how much money they can extort from our vulnerable youth.

What we're seeing here is an institutionalized ideology on a wide scale that has strangled commerce, government, politics, culture; whose ramifications on society is beyond unprecedented.

Never mind the morality, consider the fact that we're forced to accept, and even celebrate, a mental illness that has a high mortality rate - in the Lord's name, who in their right mind would accept a mental illness that kills more people than smoking.

At the very least, consider the fact that supporters of this awful political movement are facilitators of censorship - censorship is evil because it prevents ideas from being challenged, from being critiqued, from being discussed. An idea that can only survive in a closed environment where commenters are forced into a bubble of mutual positivity and agreement, is not a good idea.

Will be tough to tell on PC at least since it's launching on Steam, Battle.net, and Game Pass. I bought the early access upgrade and get the standard license thru Game Pass, so I'll be playing thru either Xbox App or Bnet depending on how it's delivered.

It's quite safe to say Underrail is a better RPG than anything Josh Sawyer has directed and anything he will direct.

But is it more balanced game?

Yes. And the reason Underrail is better than anything Josh has, or ever will direct, is that its developers have the full freedom to formulate their vision, and full control over and their technology and their design goals. Those are things Josh will never have, and hence his games are doomed to be inferior. While he works for the market, Styg makes the game he wants to make. Just like it was before gaming became an industry.
