Avowed character creation has pronouns - Elon Musk disapproves, Obsidian art director disapproves of his disapproval

I don't care too much about romances either way, but claiming that having romances is what makes a game woke is silly.

It is what allows a game to be "almost on the same level of degeneracy as BG3" (fucking the bear)
Tell us how romances allowed the Witcher 1 and KCD to be "almost on the same level of degeneracy as BG3" (fucking the bear)".

Strange logic. I'm saying that your game can't be as degenerate as BG3 if it doesn't have player romances/sex. It doesn't follow that any game with romances will be as degenerate as BG3.

And yes, Heroic Liberator, if a game doesn't have companions at all, then it also can't be degenerate like BG3. We judge games by what's there, not by what the writers maybe could have done or wanted to do. "Maybe that amputee could have been an Olympic marathon runner!"

You're missing the point. As long as there is ample narrative writing, regardless of the form it takes (e.g. companions, romances etc.), the sort of woke shit that fills the game is ultimately a product of the writing and not of the mechanics. Would BG3 have been any less degenerate if the whole bear sex nonsense was something that played out between two NPCs rather than between the PC and a companion? Personally I'd say no.

Why though? Why are they trying to hide that?
They weren't, this is just clickbait.

Baldur's Gate 3, which sold tens of millions, had pronouns and a nonbinary option. Most people don't care.

Oh no, it has the same option as one of the best selling RPGs in recent history. Zzzzzzzzzz

Pillars 2 and Outer Worlds were already woke as hell
I don't remember PoE2 being woke. It was shit, it was one of the worst role-playing RPG games that I've ever played in my life, it had a terrible story & writing all along, but I'm rather sure all of that was due to the developers being retarded, incompetent & untalented, as opposed to them being eager to please the DEI gods.

There was a similar story, wasn't it? No pronouns bs in the EA version but then boom - it appears in the release one. I wonder about the pre-prelease journo one but they wouldn't disclose that anyways.
I agree. Didn't strike me as particularly woke either, unlike TOW.
There were pansexual companions which is something in itself, strong if somewhat obfuscated anti-colonialism agenda and plenty of soy in general but yea it still wasn't as bad as TOW with all the fucking dykes and other sheit (troglodykes as the new term goes lul).

Deadfire was a bit too libtarded in its approach to homosexuality which felt a bit too 21st century. They hand-waved it a bit.

All these devs are liberal. As Tim Cain says, wokeness didn't start yesterday. Their values change with the times.

I think that they did a pretty good job of providing varied factions that all had their pluses and minuses. And the native faction aren't the objectively good guys since you can't really change their backwater system even if you side with them, only at most have their backwards tribal monarchy give some more alms to the poor in the capital. Meanwhile monocled RDC replaces their mudhuts with longhouses, stops Vailian predation in the region and integrates them within Rauatai as equal citizens of a common Aumaua heritage.

It's been years since I played Shittard of Eternity 2, but I'm pretty sure the good ending for the blackwashed Venetian faction required you to side with the ambitious visionary instead of the cutthroat businesswoman.

You have to be asleep (understandable affliction when playing Pillars) to miss every faction being a variation of "incompetent man vs much more competent wombyn".
That only really applies to the natives and the Vailians. Meanwhile the RDC, while female-led, has an equally competent subordinate (and you don't get to pick and choose one over the other) while the Principi are led by a competent guy and he's the better choice for the faction compared to the shortsighted strong womyn pirate. I do agree that it would've been better for the trope not to be present at all though.

Might be the case. Never played with that faction since I find them the least likeable.

I liked Maia and both Eder and Pallegina were ok from the returning cast. Xoti was meh, Tekehu and the pirate were cringe. Aloth as a character was ok, but his companion quest was cringe.

Why though? Why are they trying to hide that? Pillars 2 and Outer Worlds were already woke as hell almost on the same level of degeneracy as BG3. Everyone knows that nuObsidian got nothing to do with old based Obsidian and is just another company that makes slop for "gaypass modern audience".
What “old based” obsidian are you talking about? Was it the one who put a first gay marriage in a game? The one who pushed all this crap about force being evil? Maybe the one who gave you 8 companions of which two were gays, one was a tranny-granny mutant and another an alcoholic whore? Or was it a dark fantasy Bronze Age setting where “EVIL” had won?
