The MMOs were not failures, just the opposite. Pathfinder Adventures was just some cheap card game. Sawyer ended up getting a nice bonus from Deadfire, Tyranny also likely made money over time, just not the big immediate pay-out Paradox was expecting.

This wasn't a discussion about quality, it was about sales.

Obsidian could make what one here would consider a high quality game and then go out of business from lack of sales like Iron Tower.

You know, I think they could trick more people into buying the game if it was 59.99 instead of 69.99.
That extra 16 and change percent more cost + a lot of doubt will make people go investigate "wait, what is this" instead of mindlessly clicking buy.

The true price is a Russian Game Pass key for $10 as you will play the game once and never touch it again. Or if you are a little patient, you might get it for free in a bundle with video cards like it was for The Outer Worlds. Paying $70 for something so unexciting is insane. This game on Game Pass is just the equivalent of a subpar show on Netflix.

The anti-woke warriors has gotten really obnoxious to point of becoming gaming journalism of 2016. I guess it is a working business model in 2025 like gaming journalism was in 2016. She literally just says you have to accept a little jank to do something fun and creative, which is true. If anything Obsidian is opposite of that with their last games, which were all quite polished aside from some balance issues but lacked any risk taking. Actually the thing that made interested in this game in the first place was seeing it has a kick like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, which made me think maybe they are actually trying to have a bit of fun instead of doing formulaic and safe things or worse, games which insist upon itself like Outer Worlds.

Every time I've tried to get into this game I just get so frustrated with it. It's trash. Tired of hearing how good it is.

The Outer Bores is definitely cancer. It's so mid that it ironically gives me conniptions. I'll play the *free* copy of Avowed on launch day. I'm somewhat interested in drawing direct comparisons between it and KCD II which I'm playing since release.

I encountered several bugs in the base game, not the DLC, and that's unacceptable for a game that's been out that long. It was clearly abandoned.

It's simply an overrated game.
