They're pretty inconsistent in quality, though. But they look alright overall.
That UI is still vomitous, though. What, they just took a tree bark texture and slapped it in, or what the fuck is that shit. Horrible.

The increase/decrease text area buttons are the best.

Also I don't get why the "loot all" button is just a red gem and not something that actually looks like a "loot all" button.

I read that a lot of assets were bought from some unfinished mod, but I've only seen people talk about it from other forums with no direct source.

Sounds to me like most of the haters will be pirating this anyway; doesnt look that bad to me although giving Trento a single dime feels so wrong

Yeah, straight up default shapes from Photoshop.
It's like at some point they just gave up and went "fuck this shit".

Would explain the inconsistent quality and would fit right in with the overall image of incompetency they're projecting.

Or…

YOU CAN ORDER THE COLLECTOR’S EDITION.
WE HAVE A COLLECTOR’S EDITION.

Ahem. Sorry, got a little carried away there.

The Collector’s Edition includes the Digital Deluxe content and so much more.

Amber Scott sounds like a stage name for a porn star and that quoted sales pitch resonates with the same fake enthusiasm they exhibit while performing.

Codex 2013 Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Strap Yourselves In
If it was stand alone or worked with the original BG editions (which I have on GoG), then I'd probably buy this. But I'm not I'm not buying another edition of BG which, from what I've witnessed, is worse than the original in order to play it.

If you could revert the EE editions to the original game without additional content and modifications, whilst retaining the convenience updates for running it on a modern computer then I might consider buying them when they're on sale. Can you do that?

I do like that screenshot with the big tree, though.

This game is already better than PoE abortion because it gives you XP for combat.
Because we play games for the XP, not because they are fun of course.

And the UI looks like a showcase of bad design. I hope it gets fixed by mods early after release.

Yeah, no, that's not the point.

And nothing in PoE is made to be fun, that's already established.
I have managed to find a fun configuration of party members and game difficulty in version 3.01. Whether it was intended to be fun or not, I can't say.

It's also worth noting that the physical Collector's Edition is the only one that comes with a Steam key.
Are you sure it's not just an oversight on their part that the other editions lack the 'Steam key included' tag?
According to their FAQ:
Q: If I buy on Beamdog.com will I get a Steam key?
Yes. After the release of the game you can contact support@beamdog.com to request a Steam key.

Alternatively can it be that the Collector's Ediiton is the only one with a Steam key included by defeault (what would be the point of that other than to deter die-hard Steam fanboys?)?
