Crafting is a phenomenal waste of time and resources for developers. Unless its a core part of the game, say Witcher potions, there is no point because the regular game items are almost always better and if not then the crafting system breaks the game because its not balanced for the crafted items.

I cannot express enough how stupid crafting is in these types of games.

It doesn't seem necessary, except the adding enchantments quirk, which could simply be coded in as a class ability, rather than wasting time with a whole crafting system.
