It looks worse than some of those Torn screenies release years ago.

I don't think so. TBT's showing some inferior graphical quality, yes, but Torn was looking inferior, or at least at the same level, than what you're seeing.

I liked the example of the barrel-maker's wicked business proposition. That made me laugh, and if the rest of the game is like that, I could see myself getting it when it becomes availible to PC, assuming it doesn't get too lousy reviews in the meantime.

while there're plenty of cliches in crpgs, i do not think there're that many to fill a game throughout. expect some of the jokes to be recycled and unfunny the 5th hour into game.

good thing: there's definately not enough cliches left over for a sequel.

Maybe they joke about other things besides cliches? Or did they promise not to? ;)

Though the previewer described one joke in minor detail and then said there were two other funny situations, and this was during 3 hours of playing. So maybe it's just a joke every hour or so, with somewhat humourus and/or violent stuff in between?

from all the previews i read, i gather that the whole selling point of this Bard's Tale is humour, making fun of crpg in general, and not taking itself too seriously yada yada.

I mean, minus this selling point and what do we end up with? Just another Dark Alliance hack and slash clone, with arguably poorer graphics.

supposing the humour falls flat (somehow the barrel guy does not sound that funny to me) this game's going to tank, hard. it's the only selling point that sets it apart.
