Barbarian > Fighter.
Who needs bonus feats when you've got massive HP and hit like a raging Tyrannosaurus in melee?
In 2e a Fighter with Weapon Mastery, a bastard sword and a target at least of the Large size category swings four times per attack at 1d20+3+(strength modifier)+(magic items modifier) per turn, from level 13 onwards. That's an average of 54 damage at 10 strength with no magic weapons, neither of which will likely apply to the Fighter at this point and every point to either modifiers increases this average damage by 4. And at this level a Figher has a THAC0 of 8, so only the toughest of enemies won't take all four hits per turn.
